POP Showcase - Matilda
A cast of a hundred students. A crack team of back stage, sixth form, volunteers. An abridged version of the stage smash, ‘Matilda’. This was the Performing Arts ‘POP’ challenge and the fruits of that labour was enjoyed by a wonderfully, appreciative audience, on Wednesday evening. The logistics of coordinating action, song and dance, with such a large group, with only an hour’s rehearsal time each week, is no mean feat but, once again, Invicta students rose to the challenge. Amid a bold set, of primary coloured blocks, under magical, lollipop lights, the casts presented the culmination of all their efforts. A truly, heartfelt congratulations to the casts, many of who overcame their initial fears to perform with great aplomb. A huge thank you, as always, to all the students and staff who, through process and production, enabled this ambitious project to be realised.
Special thank you to the Performing Arts Team: Mrs Gooden, Mrs Harris-Tanzer, Mrs White, Mr Riley and Mr Heaton.
