Invicta Bake Off
On Monday 21 March, Year 7 and 8 students impressed us once again with their efforts in a House Competition; this time the Invicta Bake Off. Each House came up with a theme, ranging from Space to the Marie Curie logo.
Students and House Leaders worked together to create an overall design which relied on students to create and bring in their individual part to make up the overall design. We saw some beautiful (and delicious) efforts including fish shaped shortbread, cupcakes with dress and pearl necklaces, huge space rockets, mini aliens and lots of Easter themed goodies with bunny rabbits sticking out of cakes!
Mrs Derrick judged the competition and was thrilled to see such a fantastic effort from the students. She was very impressed with how they had worked together within their Houses to create their overall designs. The competition was fierce, but in the end Frank came first with their incredible Easter scene, earning 50 House points, with close competition from Bronte and Curie who came second and third consecutively. All girls who brought in cakes each received a house point.
The event finished, not with a traditional cake sale, but instead with students enjoying the fruits of their labour with friends in their Houses. A big thank you to all the girls who contributed, our wonderful House Leaders, House Captains and deputy House Captains, and to Mrs Derrick for judging. Thank you also to Miss Watts for organising the event.
