Amnesty International Workshop at Aylesford
Invicta students from the POP Amnesty group produced an exciting Human Rights Workshop for Year 6 students at Aylesford Primary School. They spilt the class into two groups where one group learnt about discrimination and developed their empathy as to how this would actually feel. The second group learnt about child soldiers and how they have been deprived of the right to a normal childhood. The groups joined finally for an Amnesty candle competition. Students had to use their creative skills to recreate the Amnesty logo in craft form. The Invicta students decided the winners based on their ability to convey human rights through their candles and there were some fantastic entries!
Well done Aylesford Year 6! Thank you to Miss Cavender for organising the workshop and well done to Invicta students: Erin-Jane Roodt, Hollie Tomlinson, Lydia Levett and Festina George-Sawyer who delivered this interesting and thought provoking session.
