Primary Literacy Challenge - Round 3
24 students from 6 local primary schools visited Invicta to participate in the 3rd Primary Literacy Challenge of the year. In teams of four, each representing their school, the Year 5 students had their mettle thoroughly tested in a series of literacy based tasks. Would their Achilles heel be the unscrambling of anagrams? And how would they fare, faced with the trials and tribulations of a creative writing challenges and a Spelling Bee Bonanza? Mr Ashwell guided students through the challenges and was impressed by the enthusiasm of all that took part. All students enjoyed the day and, putting their literacy skills into practice, excelled and shined. A special congratulations to Sandling Primary School for taking first place with 50 points and also to the runner up – Shernold Primary School – who finished, nipping at their heels, with 47 points; both teams will be returning for the final Primary Literacy Challenge to be held in June.
Thank you Mr Ashwell for making the challenge thought provoking and fun for our visitors
