£30,161 Raised for Charity!
It has been another successful year of fundraising at Invicta Grammar School with an end of year grand total of £30,161 raised by the students and staff. This year’s total has been shared with a range of charities both locally and across the world. In the final assembly of the academic year cheques were presented to the chosen RAG charities for 2013-14 including The British Heart Foundation, The Blackthorne Trust, The Royal Marsden Hospital, The Guide Dogs Association and Demelza House. A number of additional cheques were also presented, including donations to the Trinity Foyer and Maidstone Mencap.
Invicta students were pleased to welcome Mr and Mrs Georgiou, as a cheque was presented to the MS Society for £1798.73. This was raised from the earlier Talent Show in memory of Zoe Georgiou who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Students at Invicta are also very excited, as they have exceeded the target of £3000. They raised over £4500 to adopt a puppy through the Guide Dogs Association. There was not a dry eye in the assembly hall when Kate Hunter and Paul came to the stage with his Guide Dog Pedro and collected their cheque! Mrs Rivers, Assistant Head, reported ‘We are very proud of the hard work both our students and staff put in to fundraising activities throughout the year at Invicta Grammar School and we will endeavour to continue this work with our local, national and international communities for many years to come’.
