Invicta Awards Ceremony
Monday, 30 June was a very special day in the Invicta calendar as we celebrated the achievements, commitment and dedication of our students at the Invicta Awards Ceremony. Students were recognised in 21 different categories ranging from Creative Performance, Competitions, Clubs and Societies to Duke of Edinburgh and International. We dedicated a part of the evening to students who have excelled in sports, with awards being given for Sporting Personality of the Year and Team of the Year.
We were delighted to welcome back to Invicta ex-students Lourdes Webb, who has just completed a degree in History at Oxford University and Ella Shilling who left us in 2006. Both gave inspirational speeches regarding their time at Invicta and their achievements since leaving us. We also welcomed Kent athlete, Natasha Brennan, an international hockey and rugby player. Natasha also gave an inspiring speech, outlining her determination to succeed and the hard work that is involved to attain ones goals in life.
Over 200 students and their parents were treated to drinks and canapés while listening to musical performances from Isabelle Kish and Lucy Christmas. Lucy has had a very successful week as she was a winner in one of the Invicta Award categories and won a Triangle Award at a ceremony held on 1 July. She is also taking the lead role of Scaramouche in our school production of School’s Will Rock You being held next week on 9-11 July.
Thank you to the organising committee who have spent hours planning this event. Well done to all our nominee and winners.
