Salter's Festival of Chemistry
On 21 May, eight Year 8 students went to the University of Greenwich, Medway to participate in the Salter’s Festival of Chemistry. In the morning they undertook the Salter’s Challenge. This was a forensic style investigation using new chemical techniques and experiments to determine who was responsible for the crime committed. The afternoon followed with the University Challenge, where the students investigated how to time a chemical reaction to change colour in time to music. The day finished with a fun practical session, where students were able to experience the effects of dry ice. This was followed by the presentation ceremony. Both teams did exceptionally well and one Invicta team was placed 3rd out of the twelve schools in the Salters' Challenge.
Thank you to Miss Campbell for organising the visit. Well done girls.
