Visitors from Japan
On Thursday, 13 March, a group of 24 students and their teachers arrived at Invicta from Kanto International School in Japan. This is the 15th anniversary of this cultural visit. Despite the long journey, the Japanese greeted their host families with enthusiasm before embarking on 10 days of activities. The group has spent a day in London visiting attractions such as the Tower of London and the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They will also visit Canterbury and tour the Cathedral before they return to Japan. These visits have been supported by lectures on the Royal Family, British History and etiquette from Dr White, our resident cultural expert. Students have also taken part in musical workshops, English lessons and a very interesting discussion on personal space from Ms Campbell Dunlop, Invicta’s Lead Teacher of Psychology. Before they leave, our Japanese guests will give a presentation on all things Japanese to Kingshill Primary School and spend a day studying drama at Valley Park School. We are already looking forward to next year’s visit.
