Early arrivals at Invicta Grammar School's Music Department on Tuesday, 11 March were regaled with some delightful piano music, as the School's first Pianothon got underway. During nine hours, 44 students from Years 7-13 took part. In addition one mother, five piano teachers and two academic staff came along to play. The music ranged from simple, beginner's tunes to concerto movements and advanced technical studies.
Students also bought cakes from the music themed cake sale at break time.
The target was to raise £500 as part of a campaign to raise £2500 towards the cost of a new Venables Grand Piano which will be located in the school's newly-refurbished Piano/Vocal Studio.
