On Tuesday, 11 March, we were pleased to welcome 13 of our students to participate in our Invicta Speaks Public Speaking Competition. The competition consisted of three phases for our Lower School, Intermediate School and Upper School students. Students were invited to speak for two minutes on one of four topics, Humour, Passion, Learning or Freedom, elaborating on what these topics mean to them.
After Round One, each student was then invited to speak for one minute on an unseen topic which they were able to choose at the start of the evening. We had some very interesting, thoughtful and engaging responses to questions such as whether we are ill preparing our young people for adult life, or if it is more beneficial to be a good speaker or a computer wizard.
We would like to congratulate our winners Caitlin, Emily and Suzanna. All of the speeches were of a very high standard and we would like to praise all who participated. We would also like to thank our judges, Dr White, Miss Anderson, Mrs Shepherd-Miller and our Time Keeper, Mr Miller.
