Comenius Exchange Visit to Italy
On Monday, 10 February 2014, students from Invicta Grammar School departed for Italy for a one week exchange visit. Our Sixth Form students were participating in a project, ‘Democracy in School and Beyond,’. They worked with their Italian counterparts at their school in Busto Arzizio, near Milan. The project enabled students to consider the differences in Italian politics and how local development is tackled differently as a consequence. They all developed ways to enhance the local democracy and presented these ideas to students and teachers. All students greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn about Italian culture and local political concerns. The students took part in visits to Milan and Turin where they sampled local cuisine and visited famous landmarks, such as the Duomo Cathedral in central Milan.
