Robert Canniff from the Business, Innovations and Skills Team visits Invicta
Robert Canniff, the BIS (Business, Innovation and Skills) lead on School Enterprise activity, visited Invicta on Friday 24 January 2014. He wanted to experience how schools can be actively involved with businesses to the mutual benefit of both.
Invicta’s Young Chamber had recently given a presentation workshop to business people and teachers at the BIS Centre in London and had so impressed the organisers that they wanted to see for themselves the girls in their own environment. Mr Canniff saw how proactive Invicta’s Young Chamber is in its endeavours and how Business and Enterprise is embedded throughout the school. As well as the Young Chamber presentation, he met some of the teachers involved with a number projects and had the opportunity to speak to business representatives who work closely with, and support the work of, the school such as Leeds Castle. He was able to take away some exciting ideas to cascade to other schools.
