F1 in Schools Competition - BAE Systems Visit
Five students from Invicta Grammar School are busy working on this year’s entry for the “Formula 1 in Schools” competition and part of the challenge that they face is to raise sponsorship to fund the materials for the production of their miniature F1 car and for materials to create team identity within their pit display.
The team contacted BAE Systems in Rochester to see whether they would be willing to consider sponsorship again this year and they were asked by the communications manager at the site to visit BAE on Tuesday, 14 January to present a bid for this. The students prepared a short presentation and after delivering this received the exciting news that BAE would be happy to be sponsors of the team again this year with the prospect of monetary sponsorship and also technical assistance from a member of their graduate programme.
Whilst at the Rochester site the students were also given the opportunity to tour and have a go on some of the company’s state of the art flight simulators, which was enjoyed by all.
