The Little Mermaid Production - Cast Interviews (Ariel)
As we build up to this year's production of The Little Mermaid, we caught with some of the cast to found out how rehearsals have been going and see if we can find out any secrets ahead of opening night on Monday, 11 July...
This week, we're speaking to Leona in Frank 1 who is playing Ariel in the show.
Questions for the cast of The Little Mermaid:
Who are you playing in the show?
Leona: I am Ariel, Triton’s 7th daughter!
What made you want to try out for a part?
L: Honestly I just thought the production would be fun and a good way to meet more people at school.
What has been your best moment in rehearsals so far?
L: It has to be the “bloopers” when the cast mess up their lines. 'Kiss' and 'kill' look awfully similar on the script!
Biggest ‘wow’ moment to look out for in the show?
L: All the choreography in the big dance numbers!
Have you been fitted for your whole costume? What did you think of it?
L: Yes. Mrs Lloyd has taken a few measurements and I pop into A23 to go check it out. I really like it as it is not a typical ‘Ariel’ costume. The details bring the outfit to life.
Have you been in a school show before? Which was your favourite so far? Not including The Little Mermaid obviously...
L: The last show I was in was Good King Wenceslas in Year 6 at primary school.
Any secrets you can share with us ahead of the show?
L: I’m sworn to secrecy and cannot say anything.
Had you seen the film before you auditioned?
L: Yes, it’s a classic.
