The Little Mermaid Production - Cast Interviews (Flounder)
As we build up to this year's production of The Little Mermaid, we caught with some of the cast to found out how rehearsals have been going and see if we can find out any secrets ahead of opening night on Monday, 11 July...
This week, we're speaking to Lottie in 9N and Megan in 10S who are playing Flounder in the show.
Questions for the cast of The Little Mermaid:
Who are you playing in the show?
Lottie: Flounder
Megan: Flounder
What made you want to try out for a part?
L: I love ‘The Little Mermaid’ and that is why I decided to try out – it is one of my favourite Disney films!
M: Once I heard it was ‘The Little Mermaid’ I knew I had to try out, as it is one of my favourite Disney movies!
What has been your best moment in rehearsals so far?
L: I have loved seeing all the scenes come together and including the songs.
M: Watching it all come together over the last few months.
Biggest ‘wow’ moment to look out for in the show?
L: I think that the set is great and the songs are incredible.
M: Ursula’s Lair and the dry ice.
Have you been fitted for your whole costume? What did you think of it?
L: I haven't been fitted yet but I have been given an idea of what the costume is and I'm so excited to see it!
M: I haven’t yet, but I cannot wait to see it!
Have you been in a school show before? Which was your favourite so far? Not including The Little Mermaid obviously...
L: I haven't been in a school show, however I watched ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and it was so good!
M: I was in Beauty and the Beast in Year 7 but I was one of the ensemble so I'm excited to have a lead role this year!
Any secrets you can share with us ahead of the show?
L: Secrets aren't meant to be shared!
M: Nice try...
Had you seen the film before you auditioned?
L: Yes, it was (and still is) one of my favourite Disney films of all time.
M: Of course! Have you not!?
