Congratulations to Emilia in 7T who was part of a team of 4 Guides from 3rd Barming Guides that took part in Girlguiding Weald of Kent Challenge Invicta on Saturday, 2 October in horrendous weather conditions. The challenge was an 8km walk in the Kent countryside testing navigation skills with the girls taking part in challenges at each checkpoint. Emilia’s team placed 1st in the Guide section of the challenge. We hope you will do DofE in Year 9 Emilia!
Well done to Gabriella in 8S who together with her Under 14 hockey team had a match against Folkestone last Sunday. They had to be in Folkestone by 9.30am, so due to the early start she make a cake for the team after the match. What a very thoughtful gesture for your team, we hope they enjoyed it!
Congratulations to Matilda in 10T who has been selected for a place in the u17 England Hockey Performance Centre as one of the goalies. This means playing for the southern region (level above County). Everyone is very proud.
Well done to Mary in Roddick 1 who was involved in the quarter final of the women’s FA Cup last week. She was named in the Charlton Ladies squad who played Brighton Women, a team from the top league, after a tough game they were unfortunately knocked out by a 1-0 defeat but it was an incredible experience nevertheless.
Congratulations to Eirwen in 7V and her Dance Dynamics team who participated in a very successful competition, gaining 1st place Tap under 12 beginners team, 1st place contemporary under 12 advanced team, 1st place ballet under 12 beginners team, 2nd place musical theatre under 12 beginners team, 2nd place hip hop under 12 advanced team and 4th place under 12 beginners quads. Wow, Eirwen that is impressive well done!
