Year 5 Food Technology Workshop

On Saturday, 29 February 20 Year 5 students gathered to make their own hot cross buns in a creative Easter themed Food workshop.
Working in pairs, the girls learnt about the function of yeast in bread making through mixing and kneading their own rich yeast dough. While the dough was left to prove they enjoyed making creative Easter cake boxes in which to take their baking home. Some of the more entrepreneurial students even started to price up their buns!
The girls were thrilled with their work, with comments such as ‘amazing’ and ‘so cool’ heard as they boxed the hot cross buns to take home.
