Everybody's Talking about Jamie
On Friday, 23 November we were given the opportunity to see the hit west end musical “Everybody’s talking about Jamie”. We travelled up to London on the coach, which allowed us to see the Christmas lights as we drove through the city centre. The show started at 7.30pm and we arrived at the Apollo Theatre just in time to settle down and get some drinks. We were all so lucky as our seats we right next to the stage so we got a great view. The story followed a teenage boy who had a dream of becoming a Drag Queen; it shows him facing a lot of problems and his journey to finding himself. The show was full of relatable jokes and catchphrases; there was also a live band so the singing and music was incredible. We even managed to get some lovely ice cream in the interval. As the show came to the end, we were filled with tears and we all thought it was honestly incredible. The marketing and promotion for ‘All About Jamie’ was carried out by a former Invicta student; Laura Hutchinson who works for a firm who promote West End theatre productions. Laura met all the cast and spent time with the real Jamie and his mother at the launch party.
We would highly recommend the show! It was a great experience for everyone that came.
